Good morning, friends!
Today, at 5:02 pm ET, Jupiter, the planet of luck, expansion, wisdom, and hope, enters the sign of his exaltation—Cancer—and begins a tender, year-long journey. It’s as if Santa Claus has arrived at his favorite seaside retreat—the place where he feels most nourished and adored, and the locals are thrilled to welcome him home.
Cancer is a sign associated with hearth and home, mother and womb, safety and security; so we can think of Jupiter’s time in Cancer as a symbolic “housewarming” for your future. It’s not just a fresh start—it’s an expansion of heart, home, and hope.
Before we dive into the horoscopes, let’s look at the astrology and tarot behind this watery homecoming and what it may bring to us all.
Okay, let’s get into…the astrology
The last time Jupiter was in Cancer was from June 25, 2013—July 16, 2014. So, as we go over the themes of what to expect with this transit, you may also want to look back to that time period to reflect on how the archetype played out for you in the past.
What does Jupiter represent?
Jupiter is the planet of expansion, growth, abundance, hope, wisdom, and broad vision, and whichever house he will be traversing for the next year will point to the areas of your life where great blessings, good fortune, and redemption may occur.
Jupiter takes about 12 years to go around the Sun, and as such, he spends about 10-12 months in each sign. He is the largest planet in our Solar System and has 79 known moons!
Jupiter in Gemini has been about what we are connecting to, communicating with, and about, and how we are relating, socializing, and networking. There has been an emphasis on data, information, and open curiosity. There may have been a tendency to want to flirt with many ideas, try out many philosophies, and breathe in many different strategies.
Jupiter in Cancer may be about turning that focus to the family and the home. How can we nurture our families and loved ones? How can we create a safe space for everyone to convene and find peace, harmony, and security? Jupiter is about unification, so this period will be about coming together under one cause, one roof, and possibly, one belief/religion/spiritual mission.
What we have been learning and connecting in Gemini, we now have to support with collaboration, love, and nurturing in Cancer, and Jupiter can give us the opportunity to have the resources, the energy, and the vision to do so.
Jupiter’s Ingress into Cancer 2025 Chart
You can see Jupiter at the top right of the chart, at 00° Cancer 00’. Upon his ingress, he will be co-present with Mercury and immediately begin to engage in squares to both Saturn and Neptune in Aries. He will perfect his square to Saturn on June 15, 2025, and to Neptune on June 18, 2025.
There could be the feeling of community, belonging, and sweetness while Jupiter is in Cancer, but the initial squares to Saturn and Neptune give me a bit of pause because they suggest there may also be challenges involving control, restriction, or emotional overwhelm—as well as confusion, idealism, or a temptation to believe what we wish were true.
Because Jupiter will square both Saturn and Neptune shortly after his ingress, Jupiter’s time in Cancer may start with a belief that you have made the final decision or commitment about something pretty big in your life, which affects your career, home life, relationships, or your personal beliefs about the world. Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune together can signify a very big pivot point or change in direction, it’s like that moment when your calling hits you like a ton of bricks! Instead of feeling weighed down, I believe this shift will give you the necessary kick in the butt to get things going and propel you forward. It reminds me of the famous quote from Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare:
Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.
Be ready to receive some form of “greatness.” :)
The Moon is in Sagittarius upon Jupiter’s ingress and is located about 7 o’clock on the chart wheel. Jupiter is the dispositor1 of the Moon, being the ruler of Sagittarius, and the Moon is the dispositor of Jupiter, being the ruler of Cancer, so this is a mutual reception2. Because this mutual reception is occurring during Jupiter’s ingress, this dynamic is imprinting on Jupiter’s stay in Cancer during the next year and means that we may experience some inner conflicts in regard to our beliefs about the world, but there will be a willingness to compromise and possibly agree to disagree. The Moon is waxing toward a Full Moon in Sagittarius just two days after Jupiter enters Cancer on June 11, 2025, representing a culmination or ending to some of those beliefs.
The Sun will ingress into Cancer on the Summer Solstice, June 20, 2025, and then conjoin Jupiter on June 24, for Jupiter’s Cazimi, illuminating our beliefs and highlighting health, joy, and material or spiritual recognition. This is Jupiter’s annual death/rebirth moment in his synodic cycle with the Sun; another indication that things we believe right now at his ingress will go through a period of change or adjustment pretty early on during his year-long stay in Cancer.

Here is a list of the big transits for Jupiter in Cancer-June 9, 2025- June 30, 2026:
June 15, 2025: Jupiter’s final waxing square to Saturn in their current synodic cycle.
June 18, 2025: Jupiter’s final waxing square to Neptune in their current synodic cycle.
June 24, 2025: Jupiter’s cazimi (conjunction with the Sun, an annual death/rebirth moment).
August 23, 2025: Jupiter semisquare Uranus in Gemini (Uranus enters Gemini for a brief stay on July 7, 2025, and then enters for good on April 25, 2026).
September 3, 2025: Jupiter trines the North Node in Pisces and sextiles the South Node in Virgo.
October 23, 2025: Jupiter squares Chiron in Aries (first time).
November 11, 2025: Jupiter stations retrograde at 25°Cancer 09’.
December 21, 2025: Jupiter in Cancer retrograde squares Chiron in Aries (second time).
March 10, 2026: Jupiter stations direct at 15°Cancer 05’.
June 30, 2026: Jupiter ingresses into Leo (and immediately begins to oppose Pluto in Aquarius, sextile Uranus in Gemini, and trine Neptune in Aries—forming “The Basket” configuration—more about that as we get closer to 2026. Jupiter will also form the last square to Chiron, who, by this time, will be in Taurus, on July 1, 2026).
From the Mind to the Heart: Jupiter’s Shift from Gemini to Cancer Through the Tarot
Each zodiac sign spans 30 degrees and is divided into three decans—10-degree segments that each correspond to a Minor Arcana card in the Tarot and are traditionally ruled by a specific planet within that sign. So for every sign, there are three Tarot cards and three planet-sign combinations that shape and deepen the energetic flavor of the sign through these decans.
Gemini Decans - Swords and Strategy
The three decans of Gemini correlate to: the VIII, IX, and X of Swords in the tarot—cards that tell a story of feeling mentally stuck, overwhelmed by worry, and ultimately facing an ending or transformation.
Therefore, the final decan correlates to the X of Swords, which is a card that has to do with something in your life ending or going through a metaphorical death, but within this harsh imagery, lies a glimmer of hope—the breaking dawn of a new day, representing a new birth, or a new beginning.
Cancer Decans - Cups and Connection
As we’ve been discussing, Jupiter will be leaving this space and entering Cancer. The three decans of Cancer correlate to: the II, III, and IV of Cups in the tarot —cards centered around emotional committed connection, meaningful friendships, and celebration, and the tests of loyalty and trust.
Therefore, the first decan of Cancer correlates with the Two of Cups. The Two of Cups is about the exchange of love, admiration, and respect between two people in a romantic or familial relationship, and/or feeling in tune with a partner in a business relationship. But more importantly, the Two of Cups is about committing to this relationship in a public or witnessed way.

Moving from the X of Swords— where we faced the end of something— to the Two of Cups, where we are asked to form a commitment, a bond, or a union with another person in a public event— feels like a really healing change.
Over the past year, as Jupiter journeyed through Gemini, we may have found ourselves trapped in mental loops (Eight of Swords), consumed by worry and late-night anxiety (Nine of Swords), or forced to confront endings we weren’t ready for (Ten of Swords).
But now, the story changes.
As Jupiter leaves the mental maze of Gemini, he enters the watery realm of Cancer, where love, emotional connection, and care take center stage. It's a shift from overthinking to deep feeling, from the isolating logic of air to the warm embrace of water. It’s now about the heart space, our feelings, and our need to love and be loved, to care and be cared for, and to protect and be protected. This isn’t just about romantic or platonic love—it’s about learning to show up, support, and be seen in a way that fosters true connection.

The dispositor is the planet that rules the sign where another planet is located. The dispositor has a supportive influence over the planet(s) or celestial bodies that are in the signs where it has a strong essential dignity (domicile, exaltation), which can modify the expression or energy of the occupying planet.
A Mutual Reception is when two planets are located in the zodiac signs that the other planet has traditional rulership over. This creates a stronger affinity between what the two planets signify, often symbolizing a willingness to work together supportively rather than in conflict.
Wow! Fascinating! Amazing interpretations! Great work! Your career expansion is mighty and golden!
